    Total Control

    Well it comes at those times when you've lost total control;
and you just want to hide, go crawl in a hole.
And you get so embarassed and feel so ashamed
that when they ask about it you don't want to be named.

But it comes and it goes, that is, your total control
you can't do what you want, can't strive for a goal.
You don't know what you want, you can't say what you mean,
and you get so annoyed and make a big scene.

You can't do what you want,
you can't say what you mean,
    you feel like a fool,
    like a goddamn machine.

It is at those times when you've lost total control
that you think of your past and it all seems so old.
You want something new, some staggering change,
like singing a note that's been out of your range.

But it's at those times when you have total control
that you are your old self again and you're once again whole.
But you start to panic 'cause those times are so rare
and when time comes to think you don't even dare.

You don't know what you are
    or what you will be,
    it's a case of control
    it's so simple to see.
