Sally and Bill are finally sorting through her parents' things, years after the night both separately died. When they plug in her mother's antique phone from that night, it - and only it - rings. The call and caller will change their lives forever.

Origins

The connection sounds thin, but Last Call was first inspired by a line from the film Red Planet.

The guys find the "old" Mars Rover, try to get it to transmit, get no answer, and one says, "maybe someone back in 1999 is hearing it."
